The All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Senatorial Candidate for Ebonyi Central zone, Senator Emmanuel Onwe has assured the constituents of reducing the poverty index in the zone, if elected come 2023.

Onwe, added that he would attract more federal government projects, create direct and indirect jobs, and ensure that even development reaches to all the four local government areas of Ebonyi central zone and beyond.

The Frontline Senatorial Candidate in next year’s election made this known during a media parley with the National Association of Ikwo Media Practitioners held at Ndufu Echara, Ikwo Local government area of the state.

Senator Onwe appealed for the support of all voters in the four LGAs that make up Ebonyi Central zone and assured them that he will not disappoint them if elected.

Responding to question on the possibility of Ikwo LGA producing both Senator and House of Representatives member in 2023, the APGA Candidate argued that there was nothing wrong with that since Ezza nation in the person of Prof. Odoh is contesting for the Governorship seat and should also be supported to win.

He further stressed that it was still possible for Ikwo to produce both Senator and member of the Federal House of Representatives, especially when candidates from the clan across party lines have all it takes to win the positions.

In his words, “At different times, our Ezza brothers have occupied both senate and House of Representatives at the same time, and so in 2023, there is nothing wrong in Ikwo clan occupying both the Senate and House of Representatives seat. This is our opportunity, and we want every right thinking Ikwo man and other LGAs in the zone to support and elect a credible candidate from Ikwo as the next senator for Ebonyi Central zone.

“Again, our Ezza brothers, being the Eldest son in Abakaliki Bloc deserves to produce the next Governor of the State and they have a saleable, and most credible Candidate in the person of Prof. Benard Ifeanyi Odoh ”

In their responses, members of the National Association of Ikwo Noyo Media Practitioners described Sen. Emmanuel Onwe as one of the most competent and qualified candidates to represent the zone at the senate in 2023.

According to them, Senator Onwe has distinguished himself as a true leader who has the capacity to represent Ebonyi Central Zone at the senate, if given the opportunity.

President of the Association, Mr Samuel Nwanchor; the Vice, Mr Ewa Nworie; the Pioneer President, Israel Ekene Mbam among others noted that though the association remains apolitical, it was important for them to set positive agenda for the electorates ahead of the 2023 elections.

They noted that Sen. Onwe like other candidates remains a true son of Ikwo Noyo clan who has proved his worth and deserves to be supported by all, irrespective of political affiliations.

They also called on all candidates and political actors to eschew violence, intimidation, vote buying and other actions that might undermine the electoral process.

The Association further emphasized the need for issues-based campaigns and the need to ensure that the right candidates emerge at the 2023 polls.
