Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu has applauded the Radio, Television, and Theatre Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), DBS Warri branch, for its zeal in ensuring that media activities in the Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri are always topnotch.
The commissioner, who is also the Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Presidential Campaign Council, gave this commendation recently while playing host to the executive members of the RATTAWU DBS Warri branch who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Asaba.
Aniagwu said, “Let me also commend you and your team for thinking of how best to get a station that is not primarily your personal property to work well, to me that is patriotism.”
The commissioner advised members of RATTAWU to take a cue from the private sector and be more committed to their duties to generate more funds needed for the effective running of the station and not always expecting the government to do it all.
“You have all it takes to reproduce and expand, but because you always think that the government should always be the one to always bring.

“Look at those in the private sector, for example, Channels TV started from a small place in Lagos, today you see they are covering the whole country,” he stated.
Aniagwu speaking further on the issue of employment raised by the group said that the state government is looking into it seriously.
Speaking earlier the chairperson of the RATTAWU DBS Warri branch, Comrade Faith Umukoro stated that theirs was a familiarization visit to present the newly inaugurated Exco to the commissioner.
She congratulated him on his recent appointment as the spokesman of the Atiku/Okowa campaign while thanking the commissioner for being a worthy mentor and for the warm reception, she appealed to the commissioner to use his office to assist them in purchasing a bus to enhance staff welfare and security.
Speaking further on the purpose of the visit, Comrade Umukoro informed the commissioner of their upcoming event tagged “Celebrating RATTAWU DBS Warri at 30 in December.
