Hat-trick hero Erling Haaland has assured Manchester City he is here to turn things around after establishing his strides in the Premier League over the weekend with a 19-minute hat-trick against Crystal Palace.
The striker, who was unable to convert a golden opportunity in the 3-1 loss to Liverpool in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium, has practically settled well to do exactly was he known for.
In a post-match interview, the elated 22-year-old, who reiterated that as a striker it is obligatory to score goals, noted that the mentality of the squad played a vital role.
“It was a proud moment for me and my family,” Haaland said.
“Happy… amazing feeling to score three, a hat-trick, an even better feeling!” he continued.
“These games are why I’m here – to turn things around when there is a difficult time.
“In the end, it was about small adjustments. We were almost there sometimes in the first half so it was about getting it done.

“This is what we do. A good feeling. It’s really important to have this kind of mentality and we should get it even more.” the hat trick hero added.
Meanwhile, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has showered encomiums on the striker admitting that the Norwegian is incredible.
He added that Haaland has settled well in the team which can be justified by the numbers he has netted so far.
“He came for that [scoring important goals], what he has done all his life. The numbers of this guy are beyond,” Guardiola acknowledged.
“The most important thing is he settled perfectly, an incredibly humble guy. He chats more with guys from the academy players and it means a lot.
“What I like of Erling is we are still knowing each other. Still need more time. I saw his body language at 0-2 down how he encouraged his mates. I had the feeling that maybe he was not involved in the game but always he was there.
“He didn’t run from the game, always is there. As a striker he is incredible, he didn’t touch the ball but had a feeling the ball was there and he was always involved,” he added.
Haaland has scored in almost all the Premier League games and presently tops the goal chart with 6 goals.
