Aero Contractors has announced that it has temporarily suspended scheduled passenger service operations with effect from today, July 20, 2022.

A statement issued by the company revealed that the decision was taken due to the impact of daily operations, which has led to high cost of operations, aircraft maintenance, aviation fuel, also known as Jet A1 oil, high inflation and scarcity of foreign exchange.

A statement made available to The Trumpet said: “The past few months have been very challenging for the aviation industry and the airline operators in particular. The decision was carefully considered and taken due to the fact that most of our aircrafts are currently undergoing maintenance resulting in our inability to offers a seamless and efficient service to our esteemed customers.

“We are working to bring the aircrafts back to service in the next few weeks, so that we can continue to offer our passengers safe, efficient and reliable services that Aero Contractors is known for, which is the hallmark of Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Limited,” the statement reads.

It apologised for the inconveniences the service suspension would cause its passengers, promising that management of the company was working assiduously to return to service as quickly as possible, adding that it was also working with its partners to assuage and ensure minimum discomfort to ticket holders.

“It also assured that this does not, in any way, affect the Aviation Maintenance Organisation (AMO) otherwise known as Aero MRO, the Approval Training Organisation (ATO), also known as Aero Training School, as well as the Helicopter and charter service operations.

“As a member of Spring Alliance, a commercial alliance with member airlines providing mutual support in the areas of operations, we are liaising with our partner airlines to minimise the impact on our esteemed customers. Our Customers Service team will be working to help affected esteemed customers reach their destination,” the statement added.
