Controversial musician, Habeeb Okikiola also known as Portable, has denied not knowing the One-Million Boys cult group, which he earlier claimed to have found in a video that is trending on social media.
In the said video, Portable who spoke in the Yoruba language said, “Open your ears and hear me. Have you heard about Ajah Boys, One Million Boys? I’m their founder. Go and ask Sammy Larry.”
The outburst has generated a lot of public condemnation following the illicit activities of the One-Million cult group that has been terrorizing a part of Lagos.
Formed initially as a vigilante group in the Ajegunle suburb, One-Million Boys metamorphosed into a dreaded cult group known for numerous robbery activities around Lagos and its surroundings.
The cult group later made Ikorodu its stronghold. The One-Million boys group is notorious for writing and hand-delivering letters to the streets they intend to rob. The Trumpet Gathered
A movie titled ‘1 Million Boyz’ was released in 2014 based on the illicit activities of the group.
Reacting to the claim, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, ordered the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Sylvester Alabi to begin an urgent investigation into the matter and take necessary legal action.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Adejobi said, “Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.
“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society.”
Following the IGP’s order, Portable deleted the video from his social media handles and swiftly released another video saying that he never said he found One-Million boys. The singer also alleged threats to life and noted that he was only referring to the millions of fans that follow him in the street.
Portable, who spoke in a mixture of Pidgin and Yoruba language, said “I have millions of people that follow me. If I enter the road, people just follow me. You can verify this, anywhere I go they follow me. I am not a thief. I don’t know anyone called One-Million Boys. It is one million fans I know. The one million people I spoke about are my fans and they include girls and boys. I do music for a living, please.”
This is not the first time Portable will have run-ins with the law
