Barely a month after the fire incident occurred at the popular Apogbon Market in Lagos another fire gutted another market situated at Okobaba along the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
The incident which occurred early hours today lasted for several hours attracting the attention of residents and many sympathizers who besieged the scene with a view to putting off the fire but to no avail.
It was gathered that the cause of the fire had been traced to an incessant power surge which had been a daily occurrence in the state metropolis in recent times.

The Lagos State Fire Emergency Agency’s unit has responded to the incident and they are currently working to control the fire alongside Federal Fire Services to avoid spreading to other residential areas within the state.
Reacting to the incident, the permanent secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu told journalists that other security agencies had been contacted to come over and assist in beefing up security within the area to checkmate the activities of hoodlums and miscreants hampering the efforts of the joint respondents.
