A non-governmental organization (NGO), Elomaz Foundation, has doled out food items worth millions of naira to orphanage homes, widows, aged and physically challenged persons in Isoko South and North local government area of Delta State.
The food items include; bags of rice, noodles, groundnut oil, garri, milk, tea, tomatoes, and salt.
In a chat with newsmen, the Director-General Elomaz Foundation Mrs. Veronica Odogu said that “Elomaz Foundation decided to put smile in the faces of the children of orphanage homes registered with the foundation (Aruka Peace Foundation Orphanage Home, Ugholeh Orphanage Home and Gilgai Revolutionary Centre Orphanage Home ), widows, aged and physical challenged persons in Isoko South and North local government area.
According to her, One hundred and sixteen persons comprising of widows, physically challenged and aged persons including three orphanage homes were given food items.
According to the DG, “This is the season to make people happy, to give and reach out to people who are in need. Hence, Elomaz Foundation deemed it fit to put smile on the faces of those who are in need,” she added.
Mrs. Odogu also asserted that the foundation has four specific programmes spread throughout the year.
“By January, we will empower and upgrade existing businesses, while in April/May, we will embark on another outreach for orphanage homes in Isoko South and North.
“By September, we will award scholarship to best performing students in all public primary and secondary schools in Isoko south and North LGA.
“Finally by December, we will again repeat this event for widows, aged, physically challenged persons and the three registered orphanage homes.”
She noted that the event in April is a special one to celebrate the birthday of the Chairman of Elomaz Foundation, Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, hence, the foundation has carefully chosen the orphanage homes, widows, aged and physical challenge persons as major beneficiaries.
Reacting to the kind gesture from Elomaz Foundation, the General Overseer of Gilgal Revolutionary Centre Revd. Great Abraham said that, “This kind gesture is heartwarming and it is greatly appreciated by me, children of Gilgal Revolutionary Center and all other beneficiaries.
” It is something we have always look forward to and God has done it through Elomaz Foundation and through Hon. Joel-onowakpo Thomas.
“We pray that God Almighty will reward him abundantly for this act of kindness toward us.
Also the Director of Ugholeh Orphanage home Mr. Daniel James stated that, “This kind gesture is a big support to us, we know Hon. Joel-onowakpo Thomas has been doing this for a very long time now.
“We are grateful that God is using him to touch the lives of the less privileged, we pray that God Almighty should bless, promote and uplift him.”
On her part the Director of Aruka Peace Foundation Orphanage Home International Revd. Mrs. Peace Agbaka said that, “The gesture is wonderful, infact I don’t have words to describe what the Elomaz Foundation has done.
