Political thugs suspected to be All Progressives Congress, APC, members on Saturday in Itaji, Oye Local Government, opened fire on the candidate of the SDP, Chief Segun Oni and his campaign team while on a visit to the palace of Onitaji of Itaji.
Two people were shot and are receiving treatment in a clinic.

Luck ran out on one of the attackers, who was wearing a campaign T-shirt of the APC candidate, BAO, as he fell from the vehicle conveying them and he was immediately apprehended.

Upon interrogation, he identified himself as Christopher, NURTW Chairman Ise garage, Ado Ekiti.
He confessed that they were sent by a popular APC thug in Ekiti State, Mr Mentilo.
