The Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, has signed the appropriation act for 2022 into law at the Council of Chambers at the Government House after it was passed by the State House of Assembly.
The state number one citizen signed the appropriation act of over N154,963,964 into law noting that credence should be given to the state legislators for the speedy passage of the bill. However, he also attributed the speedy passage to the synergistic relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the government.
Inuwa extended his appreciation to the people of Gombe state for their support towards his administration, noting that his administration was enabled to implement all that is contained in the previous budget despite the ravaging effect of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Governor, said that he is hopeful the 2022 appropriation act called the ‘Budget of Consolidation’ will be implemented to the latter to the benefit of the Gombe citizens.

According to the governor, his administration has always subjected appropriation process to the best international practices of good governance where the people are given the room to partake in the process.
In same vein, Abubakar Luggerewo, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly noted that the speedy passage of the budget was aided by the high percentage ratio of capital expenditure to recurrent expenditure, highlighting the fact that the 2022 budget gave room to a more people-oriented projects and programmes aimed at developing the welfare of Gombe people.
“These are the hallmarks of inclusive governance which prioritises accountability and transparency”, Luggerewo added.
