The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced that its recruitment portal will reopen from October 28 to November 13, 2026, exclusively for candidates who have reached the advanced stages of the ongoing recruitment exercise. Eligible candidates will be able to check their recruitment status and generate codes for a compulsory drug test conducted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The board emphasised that the drug test is free of charge and mandatory, with the Federal Government covering the cost. Candidates must complete the screening and satisfy other recruitment requirements before they can receive appointment letters.

CDCFIB Portal Reopening Is Not a Fresh Recruitment Exercise
The Board Secretary, Maj. Gen. A.M. Jibril (rtd), announced the reopening dates during the board’s second meeting of 2026, according to a statement shared on the board’s official X account.
Jibril clarified that the exercise does not constitute a fresh recruitment opportunity and is not intended for new applicants. Instead, it is designed to allow candidates who have progressed through earlier stages of the recruitment process to complete the remaining requirements.
The current recruitment phase targets 30,000 personnel for four paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and Federal Fire Service (FFS).
The 30,000-person recruitment exercise forms part of a broader government plan to recruit 120,000 personnel.
Eligible candidates are advised to visit the official CDCFIB recruitment portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng/ between October 28 and November 13, 2026.
Applicants should use their existing application details to log in, check their status and generate the required drug-screening codes.
NDLEA Drug Test Free and Compulsory for Candidates
According to the board, candidates who qualify for the next stage must undergo a compulsory drug test conducted by the NDLEA.
Applicants are expected to visit the NDLEA office in their respective states with the screening code generated through the recruitment portal. They will then provide the required samples for testing.
The board said candidates must obtain the required certificate confirming that they meet the drug-screening requirement before appointment letters can be issued.
Those who successfully complete the screening and satisfy all other recruitment conditions will proceed to Abuja for the collection of their appointment letters, in line with official instructions.
The requirement is part of the Federal Government’s policy on drug screening for prospective public servants, including applicants seeking appointments in paramilitary agencies.

CDCFIB Warns Candidates Against Recruitment Scams
Jibril stressed that the drug-screening exercise is entirely free and warned candidates against making payments to individuals claiming they can secure screening codes, appointments or favourable recruitment outcomes.
Candidates who encounter demands for money in connection with the exercise are advised to report them to the appropriate security agencies.
Applicants should also avoid unofficial websites, unauthorised intermediaries and social media accounts claiming to offer recruitment assistance.
The board advised candidates to rely on the official CDCFIB recruitment portal and follow the instructions provided on their individual application profiles.
CDCFIB Approves Promotion of 27,624 Officers
Separately, the board approved the promotion of 27,624 officers across the four paramilitary agencies during the same meeting.
The approved promotions are distributed as follows:
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC): 17,343 officers.
- Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS): 4,601 officers.
- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS): 4,097 officers.
- Federal Fire Service (FFS): 1,583 officers.
The promotions are intended to support career progression and strengthen the operational capacity of the agencies.
What Candidates Should Do Next
Candidates who have reached the advanced stages of the CDCFIB recruitment exercise should monitor the official portal during the announced reopening period, confirm their status and follow the instructions for generating their drug-screening codes.
Applicants should note that access to the portal does not automatically guarantee appointment. Final selection remains subject to successful completion of the compulsory drug test and fulfilment of all other recruitment requirements.
