Odii, who spoke during an encounter with thousands of enthusiastic residents at a fuel station on Sunday in Abakaliki, said the forthcoming elections represent a defining moment in the political history of Ebonyi State.
The candidate stressed that the struggle is not about personal ambition, but about rescuing the state from what he described as years of missed opportunities and the mismanagement of public resources.
He maintained that his ambition is a people-driven mission to restore accountable leadership, economic opportunities and inclusive governance in the state.
According to him, the deployment of technology and the engagement of competent technology experts to monitor electoral activities across polling units will make electoral manipulation increasingly difficult, while urging residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and remain vigilant throughout the electoral process.
‘Why I Am In The Race’
The PDP candidate explained that by the special grace of God, his business accomplishments have already provided him with the opportunity to enjoy a life of extraordinary comfort and luxury anywhere in the world.
He disclosed that he could have chosen to enjoy the privileges of wealth, including travelling in luxury yachts and private aircraft, rather than offering himself for the demanding responsibility of political leadership.
However, he said his decision to participate in the forthcoming election is driven by a desire to create a society where children from poor backgrounds can aspire to become governors, ministers, legislators and occupy other important positions based on their intellectual capacity, leadership abilities and personal accomplishments rather than political connections or family relationships.
Odii declared that the state must move away from a political culture where access to opportunities and public offices is perceived to depend on having relatives, in-laws or powerful political godfathers occupying influential positions.

How 150 Houses For Indigent Ebonyians Began
Recounting the circumstances that inspired his philanthropic interventions across the state, Odii disclosed that the construction of more than 150 houses for indigent Ebonyians was never part of his original personal plans.
He explained that foreign construction experts had initially been engaged to develop his proposed private residence, which was designed to include an 18-hole golf course, helicopter landing facilities, swimming pools, a zoo, conference halls, a private runway and a gymnasium.
However, during an inspection of the proposed site with the foreign construction company, he encountered neighbouring communities where families were still living in thatched houses and deplorable conditions.
According to him, that experience provoked a personal reflection on the morality of investing enormous resources in private luxury, while people living around him struggled to afford decent accommodation.
He consequently decided to redirect the resources towards providing decent homes for indigent families across Ebonyi State.
