A mini-truck driver in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Adeleye Adeniyi, has said he borrowed ₦3.5 million to support the re-election campaigns of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba ahead of the forthcoming elections. Adeniyi, popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO”, disclosed this in an interview with journalists circulating on Friday, displaying a Wema Bank cardboard cheque bearing ₦2 million for Tinubu, ₦1 million for Bamidele and ₦500,000 for Fatoba.

  • Adeleye Adeniyi says he borrowed ₦3.5 million to support the re-election bids of Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba.
  • A cardboard cheque displayed in the circulating interview allocates ₦2 million to Tinubu, ₦1 million to Bamidele and ₦500,000 to Fatoba.
  • The driver says he plans to campaign publicly and use a song to promote Tinubu’s second-term bid.
  • Adeniyi praises the politicians and Governor Biodun Oyebanji over their reported contributions to development in Ekiti State.
  • He previously attracted attention for reportedly taking a loan to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s re-election campaign.

Ekiti Driver Says He Borrowed Money to Support Tinubu’s Re-election

Adeniyi said his decision to borrow the money was motivated by his assessment of Tinubu’s performance in office and his desire to see the President return for a second term.

“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.

The driver also pledged to take his campaign to the public, adding that he intended to use a song to promote Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“Like I said again, I am fully ready to go out to campaign for him. And I’m going to use this song to back him up. On your mandate, we shall stand,” Adeniyi said.

The cardboard cheque he displayed showed ₦2 million allocated to Tinubu, ₦1 million to Bamidele and ₦500,000 to Fatoba, bringing the stated total to ₦3.5 million.

Driver Appeals to Nigerians to Re-elect Tinubu

Adeniyi appealed to Nigerians to vote for Tinubu for a second term, expressing confidence that another term would bring additional benefits to the country.

“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” he said.

His comments reflect his personal support for the President and his stated intention to participate in the campaign ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Adeniyi Praises Opeyemi Bamidele, Biodun Oyebanji

The Ado-Ekiti-based driver also praised Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, citing what he described as their contributions to healthcare, education, electricity and rural infrastructure.

Speaking about Bamidele, Adeniyi said the senator’s support for projects had strengthened his confidence in the lawmaker’s leadership.

“Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, this man, I pray that we are still going to higher places. Most times, I look at the kind of projects that you always put on, you always supported. It always encouraged me that, no, indeed, this is a good leader,” he said.

Adeniyi also commended Tinubu and Oyebanji over policies relating to education, healthcare and citizens’ welfare, urging residents to support the governor’s re-election bid.

The claims about the politicians’ performance and contributions were presented as Adeniyi’s personal assessment.

Driver Previously Borrowed Money for Oyebanji Campaign

Adeniyi previously attracted public attention in February 2026 after reportedly taking a loan through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s second-term ambition.

He operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti and said his earlier decision was motivated by his admiration for the governor’s administration.

In the latest interview, Adeniyi said he had again borrowed money to demonstrate his support for political leaders he believes have performed well.

His latest pledge extends his reported campaign activities from supporting Oyebanji in Ekiti State to backing Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The amount he says he borrowed, the proposed allocation and his stated campaign plans have drawn attention because of the personal financial commitment involved.
