Nigerian hair entrepreneur BO Hair, also known as Oluomachi, has released CCTV footage relating to an armed robbery at her Lagos residence in December 2025, alleging that her former nanny, Lilian Okoro, helped the intruder gain access to the home and identify where valuables were kept.

The footage, which has circulated widely on social media in October 2026, appears to show an armed man moving through different parts of the residence while the former nanny is visible in several sequences. BO Hair said the CCTV recordings prompted her to reconsider her initial belief that the nanny had no involvement in the incident.

Key Highlights

  • BO Hair released CCTV footage from the December 17, 2025 robbery at her Lagos home.
  • She alleged that her former nanny, Lilian Okoro, assisted the armed intruder.
  • BO Hair said cash, gold jewellery and two Rolex watches were stolen during the incident.
  • The former nanny has denied involvement and accused authorities of arresting and detaining her over a crime she said she did not commit.
  • Okoro said she was released by a court order on April 27, 2026, and that the case was later withdrawn.
  • The authenticity and complete context of the CCTV footage have not been independently established publicly.

How the Lagos Robbery Happened

According to BO Hair, the incident occurred on December 17, 2025, while she was asleep at home with her young son and the nanny.

She said she woke up after hearing a knock on her bedroom door and opened it, believing the person outside was her nanny. Instead, she alleged that an armed man was standing behind the nanny and forced his way into the room.

BO Hair said the man claimed that the residence had been surrounded and demanded dollars, foreign currency and gold. She said he threatened to harm her and her son if she refused to cooperate.

According to her account, the incident lasted less than 10 minutes.

She said she handed over approximately $7,000 in cash, nearly ₦2 million intended for business purposes, and several pieces of gold jewellery, including a Van Cleef necklace, bracelets and a ring purchased in Dubai.

She also said two Rolex watches belonging to her and her husband were taken.

The estimated value of the stolen items has been reported at between approximately $70,000 and more than $100,000.

BO Hair Changes Her Position After Reviewing CCTV Footage

BO Hair said she initially defended the nanny when police asked her to bring household staff in for questioning.

However, according to her account, that position changed after she and her husband reviewed CCTV recordings from the residence.

In the footage released online, BO Hair alleges that the nanny appeared to remain near a window as the robber entered the property over a fence and through the window.

She further alleged that the nanny later lay down when instructed by the intruder and appeared to indicate locations where foreign currency and jewellery were kept.

BO Hair said the robber appeared to move through the apartment with knowledge of its layout and where valuables were stored.

She also explained that she delayed releasing the CCTV footage because, according to her, the former employee had been presenting herself publicly as a victim and receiving sympathy.

Former Nanny Denies Allegations

The former nanny, Lilian Okoro, has denied having any involvement in the robbery.

In videos shared online, Okoro identified herself as the nanny accused of bringing robbers into BO Hair’s residence on December 17.

She alleged that she was arrested, threatened, beaten and imprisoned despite maintaining that she was innocent.

Okoro also denied claims that she escaped from custody, saying she was released through a court order on April 27, 2026.

According to her account, the case was subsequently withdrawn. She said she decided to speak publicly after the CCTV footage began circulating online.

BO Hair CCTV Footage Sparks Online Debate

Several social media accounts, including @ChuksEricE, have shared different segments of the CCTV footage.

Some clips reportedly show the armed robber inside the bedroom while jewellery was being handed over, while other angles show movement through different sections of the residence.

The footage has triggered significant debate online, with some viewers focusing on the nanny’s actions in the recordings while others have questioned whether the available clips provide enough evidence to establish her involvement.

At the same time, questions have been raised about the earlier police investigation and the circumstances surrounding the nanny’s arrest and subsequent release.

However, there has been no publicly detailed independent verification of the complete, unedited CCTV footage or a final official determination establishing the former nanny’s involvement in the robbery.

For now, the December 2025 incident remains the subject of competing accounts, with BO Hair alleging that the former nanny assisted the robber and Okoro maintaining that she was wrongly accused.

The CCTV footage and the allegations surrounding it should therefore be treated as claims by the respective parties unless independently established by competent authorities or further evidence.
