The officials expressed satisfaction with the facilities, particularly the accommodation provided for the young players.
The assessment formed part of efforts to monitor the implementation of the partnership between FC Barcelona and the Bayelsa State Government.

Bernat Villa-Gorriz, FC Barcelona Technical Director for Europe and Africa, said he was impressed by the facilities and hostels inspected during the visit.
He noted that the environment was spacious and suitable for an academy, adding that providing players with adequate accommodation would help create an environment where football development and education could be pursued together.
Gorriz also praised the progress made by the players after watching two of their matches. According to him, the team had shown considerable improvement compared with his previous visit.
He further commended the management of the Starlets for its efforts to help the young players develop their football potential.
Bayelsa-Barcelona MoU Drives Academy Development

The agreement provides the framework for developing the Bayelsa Starlets Academy and supporting the development of players and coaches. Earlier screening exercises selected young players in the U-15 and U-19 categories for the upgraded academy.
