Unique Ladies for Sheriff Oborevwori Empower 54 Women
The programme, organised by the Unique Ladies for Sheriff Oborevwori, brought together women from the nine local government areas that make up Delta North.
A total of 54 women benefited from the empowerment initiative, with six beneficiaries drawn from each local government area.
The organisers said the cash empowerment was intended to support the beneficiaries’ livelihoods and contribute to improved economic wellbeing.
Nkem Okwuofu Urges Women to Remain Consistent
Speaking at the event, National President of the group, Chief Nkem Okwuofu, urged members to remain committed to their political aspirations, stressing that patience, endurance and consistency were important for sustained political participation.
Okwuofu said some people who participated in previous political campaigns had withdrawn from political activities because they could not withstand setbacks or wait for opportunities.
“Those who are not steadfast soon fall by the wayside,” Okwuofu said, while encouraging members to remain active and committed.
She also urged the women to support the Tinubu and Oborevwori administrations by communicating their policies and reported achievements to people at the grassroots.
Group Calls for Greater Women Participation in Politics
Okwuofu said her mentorship efforts were aimed at developing a new generation of female leaders who could build on the achievements of those who came before them.
She encouraged the women to remain united and focused, saying immediate political rewards should not be the only motivation for participation in political activities.
According to her, women who remain consistent and contribute to political development would eventually gain recognition.

The guest speaker and Delta State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, addressed the theme, “Tinubu and the Governor’s Reforms.”
