Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Joint Task Force South East, Operation UDO KA, have rescued three Anambra kidnap victims and uncovered a suspected criminal camp during a clearance operation in Anambra State.
The operation was conducted by troops of the 185 Battalion in collaboration with the Anambra Vigilante Group as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating across the South-East.

The Army, in a statement on Friday, said the victims were abducted around the Osakwa General Area of Ihiala Local Government Area before troops launched an operation that secured their release.
Following the rescue, troops carried out a follow-up operation on October 1, during which a suspected member of the kidnapping syndicate, identified as Sunday Obi, was arrested.
According to the Army, information obtained from the suspect led troops to a camp belonging to the syndicate at Abator in Ogbaru Local Government Area, across the Isieke waterside.
During the raid, the troops recovered two cartridges and materials suspected to have been used in the fabrication of improvised explosive devices.
Other items recovered included a solar generator, power bank, car battery, two motorcycle batteries, two solar panels and two mobile phones.
The Army said Operation UDO KA would continue to combine intelligence-driven operations with coordinated military action to dismantle criminal enclaves, disrupt their logistics networks and prevent criminals from using the South-East as a safe haven.
It added that follow-up operations were ongoing to apprehend fleeing suspects, their collaborators, logistics suppliers and other facilitators.
