Prophetic evangelist and gospel teacher Michael Orogbo has urged social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) to “ask questions” and “stay in your lane” rather than mock spiritual matters, while defending Apostle Arome Osayi’s message about Nigeria’s prophetic destiny and the role of revival in transforming society.
Orogbo made the remarks in a video while responding to VDM’s criticism of Arome’s message concerning Nigeria’s prophetic destiny and the possibility of the country playing a role in a wider revival.

Orogbo Responds to VDM Over Arome’s Message
According to Orogbo, VDM’s growing influence gives him an opportunity to speak for people he believes are vulnerable or oppressed.
However, he said public influence also comes with responsibility, urging the activist to approach spiritual issues with greater understanding before dismissing them.
Orogbo argued that VDM should have asked questions and sought clarification about Arome’s message rather than mocking or rejecting it.
Michael Orogbo Explains Meaning of Revival
Orogbo said revival should not be understood simply as increased prayer or religious activity.
“Revival is not just prayer. Revival is an awakening.”
He explained that, in his view, such an awakening involves a deeper relationship with God and the restoration of values including honour, diligence, truth, love, mercy and integrity.
Orogbo argued that these values can influence individuals, institutions, communities and nations.

Orogbo Links Revival to National Transformation
The evangelist said Arome’s message about Nigeria exporting revival to other nations should not be interpreted merely as a call for Nigerians to pray more.
Rather, he described it as a call for Nigerians to embrace values that could contribute to positive changes in society.
“When we say revival, our focus is relationship with God and the awakening of godly values.”
According to Orogbo, Nigerians who embrace such values could contribute more positively to governance, business, industry and other areas of national life.
He maintained that national transformation should not be measured only by immediate economic or physical outcomes.
“The product of the change is secondary. The awakening is the primary thing.”
Orogbo Uses Biblical Cyrus to Explain VDM’s Influence
Orogbo also distinguished between what he described as physical destiny and prophetic destiny, arguing that prophetic destiny precedes physical manifestation.
He referenced the biblical King Cyrus, whom Scripture identifies as an instrument used by God despite not being an Israelite worshipper.
Orogbo used the example to describe people who may not necessarily profess a particular faith but whose actions could, in his interpretation, serve a broader divine purpose.
He subsequently described VDM as “a type of a Cyrus,” suggesting that the activist’s public influence could serve a wider purpose despite his disagreements with Christian spiritual positions.
Orogbo Criticises Mockery of Physical Challenges
While acknowledging that people have the right to disagree with religious or ideological positions, Orogbo criticised what he described as the mockery of another person’s physical condition.
He argued that disagreement should not override basic ethical considerations and recalled the traditional teaching that children should not mock people living with physical challenges.
According to him, such conduct is inconsistent with the values of respect and compassion.
Orogbo Acknowledges VDM’s Advocacy
Despite his criticism, Orogbo acknowledged VDM’s previous use of his platform to speak against oppression and advocate for people he believed had been treated unfairly.
He expressed concern that the activist’s recent comments could affect the positive influence he believes VDM has built over time.
Orogbo therefore urged VDM to reconsider his approach when commenting on spiritual matters.
“Ask questions. Stay in your lane. Do the one God has asked you to do. Leave the other ones. There are high matters in this kingdom. Just stay in your lane.”
Orogbo Appeals for Prayer
Orogbo also appealed to Christians not to participate in what he described as another person’s wrongdoing.
Instead, he urged believers to pray for people they believe may be acting out of ignorance.
He expressed hope that VDM would gain greater understanding and that his mistakes would not derail what Orogbo described as God’s purpose for his life.
The comments have added another perspective to the ongoing public discussion surrounding Arome Osayi’s message about Nigeria, prophetic destiny and revival.
