The Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria (GFN) has appointed veteran sports journalist and media practitioner, Dare Kuti, as its new media director.
The appointment was contained in a letter dated September 27, 2026, signed by GFN President, Prince Kelvin Erhunmwunse, following the unanimous approval of the federation’s board.
According to the federation, Kuti was selected for the position based on his track record, dedication and contributions to the growth and development of sports.
GFN expressed confidence that the newly appointed media director would deploy his experience and commitment to strengthen the promotion and development of gymnastics in Nigeria.

Kuti is expected to oversee the federation’s media, publicity and communication activities as part of efforts to improve the visibility of gymnastics and its programmes across the country.
The appointment also brings to the federation an experienced sports journalist with several years of involvement in sports reporting and media development.
Kuti is a former Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State chapter.
His responsibilities will include coordinating the federation’s media engagements, publicity activities and communication strategies.
The GFN said his experience and understanding of sports media would contribute meaningfully to the federation’s efforts to promote gymnastics and communicate its programmes and achievements to the public.
The appointment comes as the federation continues its efforts to expand the profile of gymnastics and create greater awareness of the sport in Nigeria.
