Canadian music star Celine Dion surprised audiences at Paris Fashion Week on Monday with a performance of her 2002 hit “I’m Alive” during L’Oréal Paris’ opening-night runway show beneath the Eiffel Tower, marking another major public appearance as she continues her return to live performance.

Celine Dion Performs “I’m Alive” at Paris Fashion Week
Dion made an unexpected appearance at the end of L’Oréal Paris’ opening-night fashion show, performing “I’m Alive” before an audience of celebrities, models and fashion industry figures.
The singer initially created a moment of silence as she stepped onto the runway before launching into the performance.
Her appearance was particularly significant because the Eiffel Tower setting recalled her memorable performance during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony.
Dion’s performance received an enthusiastic response from the audience and added a surprise musical finale to L’Oréal Paris’ fashion showcase.
Celine Dion Wears Schiaparelli at L’Oréal Show
For the appearance, Dion wore a ruched black velvet bustier gown by Schiaparelli, paired with jewellery from Boucheron.
She walked the runway alongside several L’Oréal ambassadors and celebrities, including Viola Davis, Simone Ashley, Aja Naomi King and Eva Longoria.
Indian actress and L’Oréal ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also among those who greeted Dion on the catwalk.
Other celebrities attending the show included Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Jane Fonda, Andie MacDowell and Heidi Klum.
The annual L’Oréal Paris show is built around themes including confidence, self-expression and the brand’s “worth” message.
Celine Dion Returns to Live Performances
The Paris Fashion Week appearance comes as Dion continues rebuilding her live performance career following several years away from the stage.
The singer was diagnosed in 2022 with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder associated with muscle stiffness and spasms that can affect movement and other physical functions.
The condition forced Dion to cancel or postpone performances and significantly reduced her public appearances.
She returned to regular concert performances this month with a 26-show Paris residency, which began on September 12 at the Plénitude Arena in Nanterre.
The residency includes 16 performances scheduled through October, with another 10 shows planned for May 2027. The concerts represent her first full concert run in approximately six years.
