The Nigerian Navy has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Batch 39 recruitment into the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School.

According to the recruitment guidelines shared by the Navy on Monday, the application window will run from October 2 to October 31, 2026. Eligible applicants are expected to submit their applications online through the Navy’s official recruitment portal.
The Navy said the exercise is open to qualified Nigerians by birth who have a National Identification Number (NIN) and satisfy the stipulated educational, age, medical and physical requirements.
It also stressed that the recruitment process is completely free, warning applicants against individuals demanding money in exchange for recruitment assistance.
“Online registration and other recruitment processes are free of charge and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise,” the Navy said.
Applicants must meet the minimum height requirement of 1.69 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.
They are also required to be medically, psychologically and physically fit and must not have any previous criminal conviction.
For candidates applying with O’Level qualifications, the Navy said applicants must be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31, 2026.
They must also possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.

The recruitment guidelines further outline separate age and qualification requirements for candidates with OND and NCE certificates, tradesmen, applicants in medical-related professions and sportsmen and women.
After submitting their applications, successful candidates will be required to print their acknowledgement, parent or guardian consent, Local Government attestation and guarantor’s certification forms.
The Navy said details concerning the recruitment examination, including the date and venues, would be communicated to applicants at a later time.
It advised interested candidates to visit the official recruitment portal for further information when applications open on October 2.
The Navy also warned that each applicant is permitted to submit only one valid application.
“Only a single valid application is permitted, multiple online applications shall be disqualified,” the guideline stated.
