The Lagos State Police Command has identified Inspector Osumah Frank as the officer seen making inappropriate remarks in a viral video while travelling in a public bus and has commenced disciplinary action against him.
The Command said the officer’s comments were personal and did not represent the official position or views of the Lagos State Police Command or the Nigeria Police Force.

The Command disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by its spokesperson, Abimbola Adebesi.
According to the statement, disciplinary proceedings against Frank have commenced in line with established regulations of the Nigeria Police Force.
“The Command has commenced appropriate disciplinary action against the officer in line with established regulations of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement said.
The police said the conduct displayed by the Inspector was inconsistent with the standards of professionalism expected of police personnel. The Command added that officers were required to maintain civility, discipline and respect for members of the public at all times.
Commissioner Warns Against Conduct That Damages Police Image
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Tijani Fatai, said wearing the police uniform carries the responsibility of protecting the dignity and integrity of the Nigeria Police Force.
Fatai warned that the Command would not tolerate conduct capable of bringing the police into disrepute or undermining public confidence in the institution.
The Commissioner reiterated the Command’s commitment to transparency, accountability and professional policing anchored on humility and integrity.
