Croatian Ivan Perisic was on target for Inter Milan in the final of the Coppa Italia cracker against Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico, on Wednesday, 11 May 2022.
The midfielder, who rescued Internazionale against the Massimiliano Allegri’s side, thumped in two extra-time goals in the 99 and 109 minutes to ensure Simone Inzaghi lifted the eighth Coppa Italia title for Inter Milan.
Inter Milan midfielder Nicolò Barella opened the scoresheet with an early goal but two goals from the Juventus defender and striker, Alex Sandro and Dušan Vlahović in the second half put the Coppa Italia defending champions ahead and on course to win their 15th Coppa Italia title.
Juventus were already revelling in how to celebrate their 15th Coppa Italia title with reverberating chants from their fans but 10 minutes before injury time, Turkish midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu levelled the scoreline to sour the ecstatic moment for the Old Ladies.
However, the Croatian winger ensured the outcome swung in favour of Nerazzurri in the 30minutes of extra time with a brace to capitalize on the woes Çalhanoğlu’s equaliser caused Juventus.
Meanwhile, ace defender and Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has announced his retirement from football after the Coppa Italia loss to Inter Milan.
The player who had earlier said he would reveal his plan after the final said it is time he calls it off to allow the younger players to take over at Bianconeri.

“We had these 10 magnificent years, it’s up to the lads to continue now. I did everything I could, I hope that I left something. On Monday I will say goodbye to my Juventus Stadium, then if I’ve still got something in the tank might have a run-out in Florence,” Chiellini told the media at Stadio Olimpico.
“It is my choice 100 percent, I am happy to leave at such a high level because for many years I’ve said I didn’t want to finish struggling and not being able to play at my level.
“I gave it my all, soon I will be the biggest Juventus fan from the outside. After so many years within this club, you cannot shake it off,” he added.
