The Old Trafford pitch was dug up during the summer for the first time in 14 years as part of preparations linked to the club’s plans for the stadium.
Rather than discard all the turf, Manchester United preserved sections and cut them into small pieces measuring approximately 7cm by 7cm.
The pieces were placed inside glass cubes and presented in black cases before being offered to supporters as commemorative souvenirs.

Manchester United reported record revenue of £677.6 million for the 2025-26 financial year and an operating profit of £22.6 million. However, the club recorded a pre-tax loss of £43 million during the period.
The club is also carrying more than £1 billion in overall debt.
