The Cross River State Police Command has arrested two suspects and recovered a suspected stolen tricycle and a generator in separate incidents in Uwanse Division, Calabar South.
The arrests followed information provided by members of the public and prompt responses by police operatives, according to the Command.

Police Arrest Suspect Over Allegedly Stolen Tricycle
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah Akata, operatives of Uwanse Division received information at about 11:23 a.m. on September 15, 2026, about a suspected stolen tricycle sighted along Mayne Avenue, Calabar South.
The operatives responded to the information and arrested 22-year-old Testimony Ene, who was allegedly negotiating the sale of the tricycle.
During preliminary investigation, the suspect reportedly told police that he took the tricycle from Akwa Ibom State and drove it to Calabar South for disposal.
The tricycle, with registration number AZA 504 QJ, has been recovered and secured as an exhibit.
Police said efforts are underway to establish and trace the rightful owner and verify the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft.

Second Suspect Arrested With Generator
In a separate incident at about 10:30 a.m. on the same day, information received from Nyawawo Community led police operatives to arrest 18-year-old Promise Sunday Patrick.
According to the police, the suspect was allegedly found in possession of a yellow Fireman generator.
During preliminary questioning, the suspect reportedly told investigators that the generator had allegedly been taken from a church on Nyawawo Street, Calabar South.
The generator has been recovered and secured as an exhibit, while investigation continues to establish its ownership and the circumstances surrounding its alleged removal.
The police said the appropriate charge will be determined based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
Police Commend Public For Timely Information
The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, psc, mnips, mspsp, commended operatives of Uwanse Division for their prompt response to the reports.
He also acknowledged members of the public whose timely information contributed to the arrests and recovery of the suspected stolen items.
The Command assured residents that the suspects would be treated in accordance with the law, and said investigations would be conducted professionally to establish the facts before appropriate legal action is taken.
