A United States Air Force C-17 Globemaster III has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force in Lagos and Kainji under an ongoing foreign military sales agreement between Nigeria and the United States.
The delivery was confirmed by the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) on Thursday.
AFRICOM, in a post on X, described the development as “partnership in action,” saying the equipment was supplied under a bilateral defence agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
According to AFRICOM, the delivery will support Nigeria’s efforts to combat terrorism and enhance Nigerian-led counterterrorism operations across the region.

The command also emphasised that U.S. military support to the Nigerian military is provided at Nigeria’s invitation and is based on respect for the country’s sovereignty.
The latest delivery underscores the continued defence cooperation between Abuja and Washington, particularly in the areas of counterterrorism and regional security.
AFRICOM did not disclose the specific nature, quantity or financial value of the military equipment delivered.
