Sancho’s Manchester United Struggles
Sancho joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a reported £73 million but struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player at Old Trafford.
He spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Chelsea, making 41 appearances. Chelsea were initially understood to have an obligation to make the move permanent, but the club reportedly chose to pay a £5 million penalty instead of completing the transfer.

Sancho subsequently joined Aston Villa on loan last season and made 39 appearances as Unai Emery’s side secured Champions League qualification and enjoyed a successful Europa League campaign.
He also came on as a late substitute in Villa’s victory over Freiburg, marking his third appearance in a European final in three seasons.

With his Manchester United contract now expired, Sancho is free to negotiate directly with clubs without a transfer fee being required.
