The political temperature in Northern Adamawa appears to be rising ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri urging political leaders in the zone to put personal interests aside and rally behind candidates based on competence, character and commitment to the people.
Fintiri gave the charge when he received political stakeholders and supporters from the Northern Senatorial Zone at the Government House in Yola, where the gathering provided an early glimpse into the political mobilisation expected to shape the region’s role in the next electoral cycle.
The delegation had visited the governor to express appreciation following the selection of Adamu Kamale as the APC Deputy Governorship candidate to Ahmed Tijjani Galadima for the 2027 elections.
Beyond the immediate political occasion, Fintiri’s message was centred on unity and the need for stakeholders in the zone to develop a common political direction. He stressed that the collective strength of Northern Adamawa would be critical to determining its political future.
