Big Brother Naija Season 11 has introduced a major twist to the competition, with housemates Aikou and Flora selected as the first beneficiaries of “The Gambit,” a special gameplay that guarantees their spots in the house until the grand finale but excludes them from competing for the ₦160 million grand prize.
Key Highlights:
- Aikou and Flora became the first beneficiaries of BBNaija Season 11’s “The Gambit” twist.
- They are guaranteed spots in the finale but cannot win the ₦160 million grand prize.
- Flora topped the female vote with 29.38%, while Aikou led the male vote with 9.10%.
- Both remain active housemates and must continue playing by the show’s rules.
- The twist introduces a new strategic element to the Season 11 competition.
The announcement was made during Sunday’s live show after viewers voted to select one male and one female housemate for the special role.
Flora emerged as the female Gambit after securing 29.38 per cent of the votes, while Aikou won the male slot with 9.10 per cent.
Ricky followed with 7.30 per cent, while Abi polled 6.07 per cent.
Following their selection, both Aikou and Flora are guaranteed a place in the competition until the finale.
However, they will no longer be eligible to win the season’s ₦160 million grand prize.
Announcing the result on X, the organisers said “voters have chosen The Gambit. Aikou and Flora are safe until the finale, but there’s one catch… they are no longer in the running for the ₦160 million grand prize.”
The organisers subsequently teased viewers about the next stage of the twist, asking “what’s your first assignment for The Gambit this week?”
Ahead of the vote, Biggie had explained that “The Gambit” was designed to offer selected housemates guaranteed longevity in the house in exchange for their eligibility for the grand prize.
“This gameplay is called The Gambit. Should you be selected, you will be gifted longevity in the Big Brother house, guaranteeing you a place in the game until the end of the season.
“However, it comes with one important condition. You will not be competing for the grand prize. You will, however, remain a fully-fledged housemate, and all the rules of the game still apply to you,” Biggie said.

Aikou, 25, is a freelance teacher and web developer from Abuja. He has been described as calm, strong and outspoken, and identifies himself as a bookworm who is comfortable spending time alone.
The single housemate has also expressed an openness to finding love again, while admitting that he has little tolerance for dishonesty.
Flora, from Delta State, is a makeup entrepreneur with a strong interest in fashion. Known for her confidence and outspoken personality, she describes her love life as “complicated” and says her honesty and bold nature could make her a force to reckon with in the house.
The development adds a fresh dimension to the ongoing BBNaija Season 11 competition, as Aikou and Flora can no longer be evicted before the finale but must continue participating in the game without the possibility of taking home the ₦160 million top prize.
BBNaija Season 11 premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates entering the house to compete for the record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize.
