The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday hosted members of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, as part of the committee’s oversight responsibilities, while also strengthening ties with the National Assembly and sports media stakeholders through separate high-level engagements.
Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Rep. Kabiru Amadu, led members of the committee on the oversight visit to the NFF headquarters, where they were received by NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, and the federation’s General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, and members of the NFF management.
The visit provided an opportunity for the lawmakers to interact with the federation’s leadership as part of their constitutional oversight of sports administration in the country.
In another engagement on the same day, Gusau met with the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Abdul Ningi, during a scheduled meeting attended by members of the Senate committee.
The meeting formed part of ongoing consultations between the football governing body and the National Assembly on issues relating to the development and administration of football in Nigeria.

Also on Wednesday, the caretaker committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), led by its Chairman, Edwin Akwue, paid a courtesy visit to the NFF president.
During the visit, Gusau welcomed the delegation in the company of the NFF’s Director of Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between the federation and sports journalists in promoting Nigerian football and supporting the growth of the game across the country.
The series of engagements highlighted the NFF’s continued interaction with key stakeholders, including lawmakers and the sports media, as it seeks to advance football development and strengthen institutional partnerships.
