Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, resulting in the exit of three commissioners from the State Executive Council and the nomination of new officials for legislative confirmation.
The development was announced on Friday in a statement by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, who said the changes were aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery across the state.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, Mohammed Salis Gamawa, and the immediate past Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Rimin Zayam, who was later redeployed to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology, have been relieved of their appointments.
Governor Mohammed also accepted the resignation of the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Faruk Mustapha.
Gidado explained that the governor has forwarded the names of proposed replacements, along with other nominees to fill existing vacancies in the cabinet, to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
