FIFA has announced that the winners of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will receive championship rings for the first time in the tournament’s history, marking a new tradition in football’s most prestigious competition.
Under the initiative, players, coaches and selected members of the victorious delegation will be presented with commemorative championship rings in addition to the traditional World Cup winners’ medals.
The rings are intended to serve as a lasting symbol of the team’s achievement, similar to the championship rings awarded to title-winning teams in major North American sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball.
