Ize-Iyamu in a statement he signed, said he accepts the outcome of the APC Edo South Senatorial Primary held on May 18, 2026, and called on his loyalists to do the same in the interest of party unity.
According to him, the APC’s internal democratic process has produced a candidate, and all members should now close ranks ahead of the general election.
“The APC Edo South Senatorial Primary held on May 18, 2026, has come to a close. Our party has completed its democratic process, and a candidate has emerged.
“I accept the decision of our party in good faith and appeal to all our members, followers and friends to do same,” he said.
Describing the APC as greater than any individual’s ambition, Ize-Iyamu stressed that the party was founded on service, sacrifice and discipline, adding that political contests should not undermine members’ shared objectives.
He thanked his supporters, coordinators, volunteers, grassroots mobilisers and well-wishers for standing by him throughout his senatorial aspiration, saying their loyalty and prayers remained a source of strength.
The APC chieftain also expressed appreciation to supporters in the diaspora for backing his bid and assured them of his continued commitment to the development of Edo South.
He urged party members to reject division and embrace reconciliation, saying it was time to unite behind the APC’s candidates.

“Now is the time to reconcile, close ranks, and focus on the greater task before us. Our collective responsibility to serve the people of Edo South is far greater than any individual aspiration,” he stated.
Ize-Iyamu said he remained committed to working with party leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the APC, secure victory in the general election and promote the development of Edo South Senatorial District.
“The contest is behind us. The future is before us. Let us move forward with one resolve, and one commitment—to build a stronger APC and a more prosperous Edo South,” he added.
He concluded by urging supporters to remain united, insisting that history would remember the future they built together rather than the political contest they had fought.
