According to reports, Ajiboye was ambushed while travelling along Ikorodu Road in Lagos when unidentified gunmen opened fire on his white vehicle, leaving him critically injured. He was later reported to have died from the gunshot wounds.
The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the NURTW, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, mourned the deceased in a Facebook post, describing him as a loyal friend, dependable ally and one of the union’s most committed leaders.
The killing has triggered anxiety in parts of Lagos, particularly in Fadeyi and Mushin, where residents have expressed fears of possible unrest amid concerns over longstanding disputes within the transport union. Security presence has reportedly been reinforced in the affected areas to maintain law and order.
