In a statement issued at the weekend, Oluwafemi said Tinubu’s decision would strengthen public confidence in the administration, which he claimed has remained committed to economic reforms, institutional strengthening and efforts to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges.
According to him, the Tinubu-Shettima partnership has shown resilience in navigating what he described as a difficult period marked by economic and security challenges inherited by the current administration.
He also congratulated President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), the police and other security agencies over the recent rescue of kidnapped schoolchildren.
Oluwafemi described the operation as a victory for the country and a source of hope for affected families.
“The rescue of innocent children is not merely a security success. It is a restoration of hope, a reaffirmation that the Nigerian state remains committed to protecting the lives of its citizens.
“It is also a reminder that our security personnel continue to make enormous sacrifices in defence of our nation,” he said.
While acknowledging that insecurity remains one of Nigeria’s biggest challenges, Oluwafemi said recent months had witnessed improved coordination among security agencies, increased intelligence-driven operations, successful rescue missions and sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks across the country.
He urged the government to build on the gains by investing more in intelligence gathering, surveillance technology, border security, community policing initiatives and the welfare of military personnel and other security operatives.
The APC Volunteer director general also criticised what he described as attempts by some political actors to exploit security incidents for partisan purposes.
“National security should never become a political campaign tool. Terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and violent crime affect every Nigerian regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity or religion.

“Every successful rescue operation should unite us as a people rather than divide us along political lines,” he said.
He further called on political leaders, opinion moulders and public commentators to exercise restraint, warning that inflammatory political narratives could undermine public confidence, embolden criminal groups and weaken national unity.
According to Oluwafemi, Nigeria’s security situation is closely watched by investors, development partners and the international community, adding that successful security operations improve investor confidence and enhance the country’s global reputation.
He maintained that while constructive criticism remains essential in a democracy, politicising security issues could weaken national efforts to combat insecurity.
The APC Volunteer organisation reaffirmed its support for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, pledging continued backing for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, while urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible intelligence.
