The campaign materials of the House of Representatives candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency of Ebony State, Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, have surfaced online, triggering widespread discussions across the constituency ahead of the official unveiling of his campaign.

Key Highlights:

  • LP candidate Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh’s campaign agenda surfaced online.
  • The leaked “ARISE Agenda” outlines five development priorities.
  • Key areas include agriculture, infrastructure, health, education and youth empowerment.
  • The campaign confirmed the documents are authentic.
  • The leak has increased interest in the 2027 Abakaliki/Izzi Reps race.

The documents, which appeared on social media at the weekend, contained the campaign’s logo, theme and a comprehensive legislative blueprint christened the ‘ARISE Agenda’, setting off intense speculation over the circumstances surrounding the premature release.

The leak reportedly began with the circulation of a single image bearing a rising crest and the inscription “ARISE”, which was briefly posted by an anonymous social media account before it was deleted.

However, screenshots of the post quickly spread across several WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages, attracting significant public attention.

Within hours, additional campaign documents surfaced online, revealing the campaign theme, “Arise Today. Build Tomorrow,” alongside a five-point development agenda expected to define Ezeh’s legislative vision for the federal constituency.

The leaked blueprint identified the campaign’s priority areas as agriculture for prosperity; responsive representation and rural infrastructure; inclusive health and human development; skills, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and youth empowerment; and education for development.

The documents, widely circulated across digital platforms, appeared professionally designed and comprehensive, suggesting they were originally prepared for an official public presentation rather than an unintended release.

Reacting to the development, the Immaculate Media Power Center, through the Head of Media for the yet-to-be-unveiled campaign organisation, Louis Nwebonyi, confirmed the authenticity of the leaked documents.

Nwebonyi described the ARISE Agenda as a strategic roadmap, aimed at promoting inclusive development, responsive representation and sustainable growth across the Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency.

According to him, the agenda is anchored on the principles of equity, unity, youth empowerment, rural development and people-centred legislation designed to address the developmental aspirations of constituents.

He, however, declined to comment on how the campaign materials found their way into the public domain before their scheduled unveiling.

As of the time of filing this report, Ezeh, has not publicly reacted to the development.

The emergence of the campaign materials has continued to generate reactions among residents and political observers across Abakaliki and Izzi communities.

While some observers described the leak as a deliberate strategy to build public anticipation ahead of the official launch of the campaign, others suggested it could have resulted from an internal security breach or an accidental upload by a campaign volunteer.

The development has further heightened public interest in the 2027 House of Representatives contest for the Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, with discussions increasingly centred on the policy direction outlined in the ARISE Agenda and its potential implications for the race.
