The Lagos State Police Command says it recorded significant operational breakthroughs in June 2026, including the arrest of armed robbery suspects, cultists, vandals, impersonators, and alleged illegal immigrants, alongside the recovery of firearms, ammunition, stolen goods, and illicit substances.
Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed this during a press briefing in Lagos, where he outlined the command’s monthly operational scorecard.
He said the command remains committed to intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention, and rapid response to security threats across the state.
According to him, police officers recovered 14 guns, four live cartridges, one MAN Diesel truck, 51 mobile phones, two vehicle engine control units, one motorcycle, a truck loaded with 47 sacks of military camouflage uniforms, and 80 cartons of suspected illicit drugs.
Other exhibits recovered included vandalised electrical cables and a knife.
Two suspects, identified as Ikenegboge Godwin and Aondoaka Jacob, were arrested while allegedly vandalising electricity cables on the Third Mainland Bridge.
The police said recovered exhibits were found in their possession, while investigations are ongoing to track other members of the syndicate.
Also, the police arrested Emeka Okoli, David James, and Uche Mordi over alleged conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms.
The suspects were linked to the theft of iron rods from a Catholic church construction site in Ayetoro-Ijanikin.
Two double-barrel guns and six locally fabricated single-barrel guns were recovered and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.
The command said it arrested a suspect linked to a “one-chance” robbery network operating in Lagos.
Investigators said the suspect acquired a vehicle used to target unsuspecting commuters. Fifty-one mobile phones suspected to be proceeds of robbery were recovered during the operation.
In Festac Town, Ahmed Saheed was arrested with two suspected stolen vehicle engine control units.
In Ilupeju, Jamiu Asanlaye and Femi Adenuga were arrested with a locally made pistol, an English Browning pistol, and four live cartridges. A suspect identified as Segun is currently at large.
Another suspect, Falalu Mustapha was arrested in connection with a robbery case around the Ipaja axis, with a fabricated Beretta pistol and an operational motorcycle recovered.
The command also arrested two suspects, Mercy Odundo and Joshua Ayomide, for allegedly posing as military personnel, with a pump-action gun recovered from them.
Three other suspects were arrested with a truck conveying 47 sacks of military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons of suspected illicit drugs, allegedly headed to the eastern part of the country.
In Igando, operatives arrested Solomon Ebe said to be a member of the Eiye Confraternity, with a pump-action gun recovered during a cult-related operation.
On June 22, three suspects, Sulemon Azeez, Yusuf Tijani and Timileyin Oyetola, were arrested in connection with an armed robbery incident that left a victim injured.
One locally made pistol and four cartridges were recovered.

Police also rescued 38 foreign nationals in Epe during a suspected mob attack. The group included citizens from Chad, Burkina Faso, Benin, Mali, Togo, Cameroon and Ghana.
Investigations showed that 20 of them allegedly entered Nigeria illegally, while 18 had valid ECOWAS travel documents. The matter has been handed over to immigration authorities and relevant embassies.
In Ikotun, Christopher Obinna was arrested for allegedly impersonating a naval officer with falsified identity documents.
Another suspect, Ishaya Barnabas was arrested for impersonation and wilful damage but was later confirmed by military authorities to have been dismissed from service in 2024. He is currently being processed for prosecution.
Fatai said the command would not relent in its crackdown on criminal networks, adding that Lagos would remain “hostile to criminal elements”.
He urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing security operations across the state.
