Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States of America has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus but not exhibiting symptoms and will be isolated at home The Trumpet gathered.
This was announced on her official Twitter handle on Tuesday. The U.S VP tested positive for the virus despite being fully vaccinated and having received a booster shot in October 2021.
“Today, Vice President Harris tested positive for Covid-19 on rapid and PCR tests. She has exhibited no symptoms, will isolate and continue to work from the vice president’s residence,” said Harris’ press secretary, Kirsten Allen.
“She has not been in close contact with the president or first lady due to their respective recent travel schedules,” Allen said, adding that she would “return to the White House when she tests negative.”
Harris, 57, late last week travelled to California and remained there over the weekend.

The COVID-19 diagnosis makes Harris the highest-profile U.S. leader to contract the coronavirus since former President Donald Trump, who tested positive for COVID-19 during the final month of the 2020 presidential campaign.
She was fully vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine and has since been boosted twice.
Allen said after consultation with her physicians, Harris was prescribed and has taken Paxlovid, an antiviral drug to treat COVID-19. Paxlovid is effective at keeping high-risk COVID-19 patients out of the hospital.
She tested positive the same day as other lawmakers, including Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut and Ron Wyden of Oregon.
