The Deputy General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Emmanuel Ikpeme, will on Thursday, June 18, 2026, present a new book examining the challenges and future prospects of sports development in Nigeria.

The book, titled: “Perspectives on Sports Development in Nigeria: Challenges and Ways Forward,” will be unveiled at the VIP Lounge of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, and is expected to attract leading figures from Nigeria’s political, academic, and sporting communities.

Ikpeme, a former university lecturer and seasoned sports administrator, said the publication was driven by what he described as a “compelling responsibility” to contribute meaningfully to national discussions on sports development.

According to him, the book draws from decades of experience in academia and sports administration at both state and national levels.

“Over the course of my career as a lecturer and sports administrator at both the state and national levels, I have had the privilege of accumulating a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience within Nigeria’s sporting landscape.

“I have distilled these insights and observations into a comprehensive volume titled: Perspectives on Sports Development in Nigeria: Challenges and Ways Forward,” he said.

He explained that the publication provides an in-depth analysis of eleven sports across eleven chapters, while the twelfth chapter focuses on anti-doping, which he described as a critical and increasingly important issue in modern sports administration.
