Veteran Nollywood actor Adewale Adeoye has stirred conversations online after sharing a personal revelation about his family structure, saying his wife is the head of his household.
The actor made the disclosure during an interview while narrating how he handled his elderly mother’s difficult living situation.
Baba Elesho explained that his mother had been battling an eye condition for years and was staying with one of his younger siblings.
Although she was not living with him, he said he continued to support her and regularly checked on her as a responsible son.
He revealed that during one of his visits, he noticed that his mother was unhappy with her situation and expressed her desire to leave.
According to him, his mother told him she would rather be thrown into the sea than continue staying where she was uncomfortable.
Touched by her words, the actor decided to bring her to Lagos. However, upon arriving home, he said he did not take her inside immediately.
Instead, he went upstairs to speak with his wife first.

“It was on Sunday, I went upstairs to meet my wife, prostrated and told her I had a visitor. She asked who, I replied Alhaja,” he recounted.
He explained that his wife’s approval and involvement mattered because she manages the home.
“I came to speak with my wife first because she had to know about it. You own the home and your reactions matter,” he said.
The actor added that his decision was based on respect and partnership, stressing that his wife plays a major role in the family.
“My wife is the head of my family,” Baba Elesho stated.
His comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with many praising his humility and approach to marriage while others debated traditional family roles.
