The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has unveiled an extensive calendar of events for 2026, outlining a series of domestic competitions, training camps and international engagements, aimed at raising the profile of Nigerian volleyball and enhancing the country’s competitiveness on the global stage.

The schedule, released on Tuesday by the NVBF, covers activities up to July 2026 and reflects the federation’s commitment to talent development, elite competition and international participation.
According to the calendar, the 2026 Division One and Division Two Men’s and Women’s Volleyball League, which commenced on May 23 in Abuja, is currently ongoing and will conclude on June 5.
The competition is expected to provide a platform for emerging players and clubs to showcase their abilities while strengthening the domestic volleyball structure.

Following the league, attention will shift to beach volleyball, with the first phase of the Beach Volleyball Tour scheduled to take place in Kaduna from June 5 to June 12.
The federation has also earmarked June 13 to June 28 for the Premier League Phase in Abuja, where some of the country’s leading volleyball clubs will compete for honours in what is expected to be one of the season’s most competitive tournaments.
As part of preparations for international assignments, the men’s national team will hold a training camp in Ilorin from June 29 to July 11 ahead of the Nations Cup qualifiers.
Beach volleyball preparations for the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3 Championship will begin with a training camp running from June 13 to July 3 in Kaduna and Badagry.
The camp will be followed by the CAVB Zone 3 Zonal Qualification tournament in Badagry from July 3 to July 7.
Nigeria will also participate in the Under-18 Beach Volleyball World Championship in the Netherlands from July 9 to July 12, providing young athletes with an opportunity to compete against some of the world’s top emerging talents.
The federation’s schedule will continue with the National Cup Qualifier in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from July 13 to July 19, where Nigerian teams will seek qualification opportunities and valuable international experience.
The packed programme underscores the federation’s determination to strengthen volleyball development at both grassroots and elite levels while ensuring consistent participation in regional, continental and global competitions.
With domestic leagues, beach volleyball initiatives, national team camps and international tournaments forming part of the roadmap, the NVBF is optimistic that the 2026 season will represent another significant step in its quest to make Nigerian volleyball more competitive and visible on the world stage.
