A young man identified as Emmanuel Oluwale has been abducted by gunmen in Kungabokun community, Kubwa, in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Key Highlights:

  • Gunmen abducted Emmanuel Oluwale from his home in Kungabokun, Kubwa, Abuja, on Sunday night.
  • The attackers reportedly broke into his residence and took him to an unknown location.
  • Local vigilantes engaged the kidnappers with gunfire, causing them to flee.
  • One suspect was arrested and handed over to the police for investigation.

Residents told The Trumpet that the armed men invaded the area around 11 p.m. on Sunday and directly targeted the victim’s residence.

The attackers were said to have forcefully broken down the door before whisking Oluwale away to an unknown destination.

Community sources added that vigilantes in the area responded with gunfire during the attack, forcing the assailants to flee.

One suspect was reportedly arrested in the aftermath and handed over to the Byazin Police Station for investigation.

The incident has deepened anxiety among residents, who say kidnapping and other violent crimes have become increasingly frequent in the area.

A resident noted that the latest abduction comes barely three weeks after another victim was kidnapped in the same community and later released after his family reportedly paid a ransom of about N7 million.

As of press time, Oluwale’s whereabouts remain unknown, and security agencies have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

Residents are calling for stronger security presence and urgent action to curb the rising wave of abductions in the area.
