An African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Allen Hart has rejected the outcome of the party’s governorship primary in the state.
The aspirant accused certain individuals of manipulated the conduct of the election ahead of the scheduled time, asserting that the primary was disrupted before the completion of the exercise.
He further dismissed rumours making the rounds, alleging that he stepped down for one of the aspirants, Fara Dagogo, dismissing the rumours as false and misleading.
He said: “I did not step down from the governorship race in Rivers State for anybody and the public should disregard such insinuations and ignore the statement dredited to Fara Dagogo in the social media.
“As a matter of fact, I received a call from Dagogo asking me to step down for him and also congratulate him. I
” did not step down and I didn’t contemplate doing so because I am better than any of my co-contenders with proven track records which none of them have.
“So, under what circumstance would I have stepped down for such people.”
Hart therefore, implored the ADC national leadership to wade into the matter and sanction those creating a bad image for the party.

“ADC stands a better chance than any other political party in the state because the party intends to restore peace and tranquility to Rivers State.
“I cannot be party to fomenting trouble for the ADC because it is the party to beat in this election and I am the preferred candidate that will fly the party’s flag,” he stated.
Also, the aspirant rejected and condemned the imposition of a governorship candidate and called on the National Working Committee of the party to wade into the matter and resolve the issue amicably in the interest of the party.
Furthermore, Hart distanced himself from those dropping the name of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, into the confusion surrounding the conduct of the governorship primary in the state.
