The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Election Committee in Gombe State has declared Jamilu Gwamna as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections following the conclusion of its direct primary election.

Announcing the results after the collation of votes from the 11 local government areas of the state, Chairman of the Governorship Primary Election Committee, Senator Sani Danladi, said Gwamna secured a total of 247,161 votes to emerge victorious in the contest.
According to the committee, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, polled 12,120 votes, while former Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali, garnered 11,612 votes.

Senator Danladi described the primary election as peaceful, transparent, and conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the party as well as the provisions of the Electoral Act.
He commended APC members across the state for their orderly conduct and impressive turnout during the exercise, noting that the process reflected the party’s strength, unity, and grassroots support in Gombe State.
The collation of results took place at the APC state secretariat in Gombe and was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Gombe State, Umar Gajiram.
Also present at the collation centre were electoral observers, security personnel, members of the media, and senior party officials.
