Arsenal have officially been crowned the 2025/26 English Premier League champions, ending a 22-year title drought after Manchester City failed to secure victory against Bournemouth in a dramatic turn of events on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s side needed a win at the Vitality Stadium to keep the title race alive heading into the final day, but a 1-1 draw ensured that Arsenal could no longer be caught at the top of the table.

Key Highlights:

  • Arsenal F.C. won the 2025/26 Premier League title, ending a 22-year wait for the championship.
  • Arsenal secured a crucial 1–0 win over Burnley F.C., with Kai Havertz scoring the only goal.
  • Manchester City F.C. failed to keep the title race alive after drawing 1–1 with AFC Bournemouth.
  • Bournemouth took the lead through Eli Junior Kroupi before Erling Haaland scored a late equaliser for City.
  • Fans celebrated across London as manager Mikel Arteta prepared to lift Arsenal’s first league trophy since 2004.

The Gunners, who have led the standings for much of the season, had earlier strengthened their position with a narrow 1-0 victory over already-relegated Burnley on Monday.

Kai Havertz scored the decisive first-half goal that maintained Arsenal’s momentum and placed added pressure on City.

City’s hopes were further complicated following reports that Guardiola will depart the club at the end of the season, despite having a year left on his contract.

The uncertainty appeared to reflect on the pitch as Bournemouth struck first through Eli Junior Kroupi in the 39th minute, forcing City into a difficult chase.

Although, Erling Haaland eventually rescued a stoppage-time equaliser after a triple substitution injected fresh energy into the City attack, it was not enough to keep their title hopes alive.

Bournemouth, under departing manager Andoni Iraola, showed strong defensive resilience throughout the encounter.

The result keeps their European ambitions alive, as they continue to push for a possible Europa League qualification spot.

Meanwhile, Arsenal supporters erupted in celebration across London, with large gatherings reported around the Emirates Stadium and nearby pubs as fans finally witnessed their club lift the league trophy for the first time since 2004.

Mikel Arteta’s squad, which has been consistent throughout the campaign, are now set to officially receive the Premier League trophy at the conclusion of the season’s final fixtures this weekend.
