A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mustapha Salihu, has assured the people of Adamawa State that they would not regret electing him as governor, pledging to transform the state into a major industrial and agricultural hub if given the mandate.
Salihu made the declaration during his ongoing “Meet the People” tour in Fufore Local Government Area, where he met with party members, traditional rulers and residents to seek their support and blessings ahead of the governorship race.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the emir of Fufore, Salihu promised that the area would witness unprecedented development under his administration, especially in agriculture, infrastructure and power supply.
According to him, Fufore possesses enormous agricultural potential capable of supporting large-scale rice production and agro-allied industries that could create employment opportunities for thousands of youths across the state.
He stated that his administration would focus on industrialization as a strategy for job creation, poverty reduction and boosting internally generated revenue.
“Adamawa has the capacity to become one of the leading agricultural and industrial states in Nigeria.
“We will create an enabling environment for investors, improve infrastructure and support farmers with modern agricultural inputs and processing facilities,” Salihu said.
The APC chieftain also commended the administration of President Bola Tinubu for what he described as efforts aimed at improving security, peace and economic development across the country.
He cited the approval of a Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) project in Fufore as part of the federal government’s commitment to improving electricity supply and stimulating economic activities in the area.
Salihu added that improved power supply would encourage industrial growth and enhance the living conditions of residents.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters in Fufore, the governorship hopeful said his administration would build on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri by attracting industries, improving infrastructure and expanding agricultural production across Adamawa State.

He particularly promised to develop Fufore into a centre for food production and agro-industrial activities, with special emphasis on rice farming and processing.
During the visit, Salihu and members of his entourage paid homage to the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, where he solicited royal blessings and support for his ambition.
In his remarks, the emir of Fufore commended Salihu for maintaining close ties with the people of the area and contributing to developmental efforts within the emirate.
The traditional ruler noted that the APC stalwart had consistently demonstrated commitment to the progress and welfare of the people of Fufore.
