The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging an influx of Fulani herdsmen into Anguwan Dobi, Gwagwalada Area Council, describing them as misleading and unfounded.

In a statement issued on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said operatives were swiftly deployed to the area and adjoining communities after videos and reports suggesting an imminent security threat began to spread online.
According to her, investigations revealed no unusual gatherings, suspicious movements, or persons matching the claims.

“The command wishes to assure residents that it is closely monitoring developments within the area, while investigation is still ongoing to fully ascertain the facts surrounding the matter,” Adeh stated.
She urged residents to remain calm and continue their lawful activities without fear, stressing that the police remain committed to safeguarding lives and property across the FCT.
The command also encouraged members of the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through its emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938.
The statement reiterated the command’s resolve to counter misinformation and maintain public confidence in its operations.
