Governor Seyi Makinde has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, unveiling a political alliance between the People’s Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples’ Movement.
Makinde made the announcement on Thursday during a mega rally in Ibadan, where leaders and supporters of both parties gathered to formalize the coalition ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking at the event, the Oyo State governor said Nigeria needed a “reset,” stressing that citizens could no longer remain passive while the country’s challenges deepen.

Declaring his ambition before supporters, Makinde said: “And so, I declare my candidacy for the office of the President of Nigeria.”
