The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 73 suspected criminals during a coordinated security operation across Mubi and surrounding communities as part of intensified efforts to combat rising criminal activities in the area.
The joint operation, carried out in collaboration with other security agencies, targeted identified criminal hideouts and black spots allegedly being used for illegal activities.

In a statement issued on May 6, the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the operation followed multiple complaints from residents and credible intelligence concerning suspected criminal activities within the affected communities.

According to the statement, security operatives raided several identified locations, leading to the arrest of suspects allegedly connected to offences including drug-related crimes, house-to-house robbery, and other violent acts.
The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, described the exercise as part of proactive security measures aimed at protecting lives and property across the state.
He stated that the command remains committed to ensuring that no part of Adamawa State becomes a safe haven for criminal elements.
The police command also commended residents and other security agencies for their cooperation during the operation, urging members of the public to continue providing timely and useful information to support ongoing policing efforts.
Authorities confirmed that all suspects are currently undergoing screening and investigation, adding that those found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
