A shocking incident has been reported from Odisha State in India, where a man allegedly exhumed the remains of his late sister from her grave in an attempt to prove her death to a bank.
The man, said to be over 50 years old, reportedly took the drastic step after facing difficulties withdrawing money from his sister’s bank account.
According to local reports, he had attempted to withdraw 20,000 rupees (about $200) from the deceased woman’s account.
However, the transaction was reportedly unsuccessful despite the bank having already informed him of her death.

In a statement to police, the man claimed the bank refused to accept his explanation regarding his sister’s passing, prompting him to take the extreme and unusual action of retrieving her remains.
Authorities said the deceased woman passed away in January this year.
The incident has sparked widespread shock and debate in the community, with investigations now underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
