A political advocacy movement aimed at reshaping public perception about President Bola Tinubu has been launched ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The initiative, known as ‘The Presidency Project’, is being spearheaded by the Center for the Promotion of Peace and Unity in partnership with the Asiwaju Tinubu Ambassadors and Friends for Good Governance and Better Nigeria.
In a statement issued to journalists in Jalingo, Taraba State, President General of the group, Lazarus Nwachukwu, described the project as a large-scale campaign aimed at highlighting the president’s leadership qualities and promoting national unity.
Nwachukwu said the initiative is not primarily focused on securing electoral victory in 2027, but rather on showcasing what he described as the administration’s achievements and leadership capacity.
He added that the campaign is expected to gain traction both within Nigeria and internationally.
According to him, the project was officially launched at the All Progressives Congress (APC) state secretariat in Katsina State, where members engaged with party officials.

He called on political stakeholders to ensure peaceful conduct during the 2027 elections, warning that electoral violence could worsen the country’s existing challenges.
Nwachukwu also attributed Nigeria’s security concerns to longstanding systemic issues, including years of underinvestment in security infrastructure, rather than the policies of the current administration.
He emphasized that terrorism and insurgency are global challenges that require collective national action.
As part of its outreach, the group announced plans to implement nationwide programmes, including a humanitarian initiative targeting 185,000 vulnerable Nigerians.
The campaign is expected to extend to other states, including Kano State, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and international communities.
Reacting to the development, the Katsina State Chairman of the APC, Bishir Saulawa, welcomed the initiative and expressed concern over what he described as misinformation about the administration.
He said the movement could help present the government’s record more positively.
Saulawa also commended Tinubu’s policies, particularly in foreign affairs, and pledged the party’s support.
He accepted his appointment as a national patron of the movement and assured the group of continued collaboration.
The ‘Presidency Project’ is expected to commence a nationwide tour in the coming weeks, as it seeks to build support and amplify its message ahead of the next election cycle.
